What We Believe

This ministry does not hold to a certain denomination or tie directly to a specific church. We will use the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as a summary for What We Believe because it lines up well. See the below points:

  • The Scriptures – The Bible is God’s Word, inspired, inerrant, and the ultimate authority for faith and practice.
  • God – One God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • God the Father – Ruler of creation, all-powerful, all-loving, and all-wise.
  • God the Son (Jesus Christ) – Fully God and fully man; lived a sinless life, died on the cross for sin, rose bodily from the grave, and will return in glory.
  • God the Holy Spirit – Convicts of sin, regenerates, empowers, and gifts believers for Christian living and service.
  • Man – Created in God’s image, but sinned and is in need of salvation.
  • Salvation – Offered by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone; includes justification, sanctification, and glorification.
  • God’s Purpose of Grace – Election is God’s gracious plan of salvation; believers are secure in Christ forever.
  • The Church – A local body of baptized believers, associated by covenant, committed to the gospel, worship, discipleship, fellowship, and mission.
  • Baptism and the Lord’s Supper – Baptism by immersion symbolizes new life in Christ; the Lord’s Supper remembers His death.
  • The Kingdom – God’s reign is present in the world and will be fully realized at Christ’s return.
  • Last Things – Jesus will return personally and visibly; the dead will be raised; final judgment will occur; believers enter eternal life, unbelievers eternal separation. The order of “End Times” events is up for debate and considered “non-essential”.
  • Evangelism and Missions – Every Christian is called to share the gospel and participate in God’s mission.
  • Education and Edification – Essential for spiritual growth and the advance of the gospel.
  • Stewardship – Christians are called to manage their time, talents, and treasures for God’s glory.
  • Cooperation – Believers and churches should partner together in advancing the gospel.
  • The Christian and the Social Order – Christians should seek justice, righteousness, and love in society while upholding human dignity.
  • Peace and War – Christians should promote peace but may serve in just causes.
  • Religious Liberty – God alone is Lord of the conscience; church and state should be separate but cooperative in promoting justice and moral order.
  • The Family – The family is ordained by God, defined as the union of one man and one woman in marriage, with distinct but complementary roles for husband and wife.
